Presidential  Scholarship (Graduating High School Seniors Only)

Awards are renewable for up to four years and amounts vary from $1,000 to $5,500 per year (determined by GPA and ACT or SAT score)

  • Minimum 3.80 High School GPA
  • Minimum 30 ACT or 1330 SAT composite (combined critical reading and math sections)
  • 2018 High School Graduates must complete a minimum of three college preparatory units with a C- or better in their senior year
  • Recipients at all award levels are eligible to receive a reward of $250 the following academic year if they complete 45 credits with a 3.0 GPA at WOU

Diversity Commitment / David S. Brody Scholarship

At Western Oregon University, we believe a diverse campus community improves the overall quality of education our students receive by offering a mix of experiences, opinions, and viewpoints.  We are committed to recognizing and supporting outstanding students from diverse cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, with unique talents, interests, and life experiences.

  • Awarded to high school senior and new transfer students
  • Scholarships are $4,000 per year
  • Renewable for up to four years for new freshmen and up to two years for transfer students

ASPIRE High School Partnership Award

$500 nonrenewable scholarship awarded to selected incoming freshman nominated by their high school ASPIRE program. Each ASPIRE program is limited to 2 nominations each year.

  • $500 nonrenewable scholarship
  • Must register and complete at least 12 credits per term
  • Must be nominated by qualifying ASPIRE coordinator

All Students

 WOU Foundation Scholarships

Complete the WOU General Scholarship Application to be considered for over 100 different WOU scholarship programs, including scholarships from institutional funds and private donors through the WOU Foundation.  Selection criteria vary by scholarship, but generally include academic merit, extracurricular activities, and overall quality of application.  Financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), is an additional factor for some scholarships.
