AP Classes

What are AP classes?

AP stands for Advanced Placement. The AP Program offers college-level courses and exams that you can take in high school. Taking AP courses in high school could give you an advantage in college by letting you:

  • Skip introductory courses
  • Stand out on applications
  • Experience college-level coursework

Research shows that students who take one or two AP classes during high school are better prepared for college and earn higher college grades than those students who do not take an AP class during high school. Because these are rigorous courses, there is an application process that needs to be completed by Friday, March 5 for your counselor to review.
