ATTENTION Starting next semester, HHS will be offering an Army Junior ROTC class! The Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is a high school program that aims to develop students into responsible citizens and leaders. The program's mission is "To Motivate Young People to Be Better Citizens".
Here are some of the program's objectives:

Develop leadership: Cadets learn to take on leadership roles and develop skills like goal setting, prioritization, and visualization.

Promote citizenship: Cadets learn about the ethical values and principles of good citizenship.

Communicate effectively: Cadets learn to think logically and communicate well in writing and orally.

Develop character: Cadets learn to act with integrity and personal accountability.

Be prepared for post-secondary education: Cadets develop skills that will help them succeed in high school and beyond.

The program's curriculum includes courses in citizenship, leadership, human behavior, and more. It also combines formal instruction with practical skill training and hands-on leadership opportunities.

The Counseling and Career Center at Hermiston High School provides developmental and systematic support to each and every student to ensure academic, career, social/emotional development and achievement, and participation in the broader community.
