2024-2025 HHS Graduation Update #4

Wednesday, May 7th 6:00-7:30: Evening of Excellence
-Programs of Study, honors diplomas and department recognitions

Friday, May 9: Deadline to submit request for Cultural regalia. (Must be submitted to Mr. Spoo for approval.) 

Friday, May 16: Credit Recovery/Peak/ & Outside Credits need to be completed.

Wednesday, May 21 7:00-8:00: A non-denominational Baccalaureate/Senior Faith Night (Not Mandatory). Presentable attire is required. 

Tuesday, May 27: Scholarship Night Program 6:00-7:30 in the Main Commons. (Complete scholarship form sent by Ms. Bustillos by May 23) to report scholarships. 

Friday, May 30: All work must be completed in order to walk in the graduation ceremony.

Friday, May 30: Senior Celebration Walk/Parade:
-Students will have their senior class photo taken in the bleachers promptly at 6:30 p.m. 
-Following the parade, fireworks will be displayed from the Hermiston Butte starting at approximately 9:30
-Free pictures of the senior class & parade. More information to come on the details

Tuesday, June 3: Seniors will attend all classes in order to check out.

Wednesday, June 4: Senior online check-out completed. Live link will be provided at a later date.  

Wednesday, June 4 Graduation practice: All seniors will report to the Purple Gym by 2:00 p.m.  Seniors must attend the practice or they will be excluded from the ceremony on Thursday.  Note, that all school rules apply during practice and infractions may result in exclusion from the graduation ceremony. All graduating students are required to ride the bus to and from the Toyota Center.  Anticipated return to HHS by 7:00 p.m.
  
Thursday, June 5: All seniors need to be in the Purple Gym by 4:00 p.m. The Graduation Ceremony will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Toyota Center, 7000 W. Grandridge Blvd. Kennewick, WA 99336.  Seniors who are walking are required to ride the bus up to the Toyota Center on the day of graduation. 

Thursday, June 5:  The doors to the Toyota Center will open at 6:00 p.m. for parents and families.

Thursday, June 5:  Pictures of individual students will be taken during the ceremony. They will be available for purchase at https://barksdalephoto.com. Parents and students will be emailed details which will include a link for purchase.

Thursday, June 5: Project Graduation will be held at The Pacific Clinic (formally, Tri-City Court Club), 30 minutes after the Graduation Ceremony concludes. The party will end at 12:30 a.m. Bussing will be provided for students to and from the party. Pacific Clinic Waiver forms (available in the bookkeeping office) are to be signed by June 5. "Your Project Graduation t-shirt—just $10.00—is your ticket into the party! Don’t miss out!"

Code of Conduct: The Hermiston community and school personnel care about maintaining the dignity and ceremony of graduation. While we want to encourage appropriate celebration of your accomplishments, it is essential to maintain respect for all the participants in the program. Each speaker and individual senior deserves to have their moment in the spotlight. Students whose inappropriate actions interfere will be removed from the ceremony. 

Attire: The traditional cap and gown is a privilege and should be worn with pride. Clothing underneath needs to be appropriate. No shorts or flip-flops are allowed. The cap and gown should remain intact without additional decoration, including glitter. Only school approved honors and military stoles and programs of study cords will be worn during the ceremony.
