The Oregon Statewide Assessment, administered each year in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science, provides an important snapshot of student learning across the state. Students in grades 3–8 and 11 take the ELA and Mathematics assessments, while grades 5, 8, and 11 are also assessed in Science.
Statewide, results showed a minimal increase of 0.2% in ELA, Mathematics, and Science proficiency across all tested grades. In Hermiston, student proficiency in ELA decreased slightly by 0.1%, while Mathematics increased by 1.1% and Science by 0.8%.
